As an ESOL Tutor at SFiCE Foundation, you will play a crucial role in helping vulnerable adults in Nottingham improve their English language skills. You will design and deliver engaging in-person sessions, monitor learner progress, and provide support and guidance.
The role is Part Time, 4 hours per week 30ph
Key Responsibilities:
Learner Development:
Contribute to the development and adaptation of ESOL materials to meet the specific needs of learners.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Develop and implement assessment tools to measure learner progress and identify areas for improvement.
Community Outreach:
Participate in community outreach to promote the ESOL program and recruit new learners.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other staff members and volunteers, to ensure that learners receive comprehensive support.
Learner Engagement:
Utilise different tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Individualised Support:
Provide additional support to learners who may require extra attention or assistance.
Data Management:
Collect and analyse data on learner progress and outcomes to inform program improvement.
Cultural Sensitivity:
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding when working with learners from diverse backgrounds.
Administrative Tasks:
Complete administrative tasks, such as updating learners of any breaks, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
Recognised ESOL/TEFL qualification (e.g., CELTA, TEFL, TESOL)
Experience working with adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds
Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience:
At least 1 years of experience teaching ESOL in a class setting
Experience working in the nonprofit sector preferred.
