Mayen Estate is a small family-run estate, near Rothiemay in Banffshire and is home to Mr & Mrs A Cheyne and family. The grounds feature lawns, over 300 acres of woodland, an arboretum, a mile of riverbanks, ponds, fruit trees, landscaped gardens, roads and paths in the Deveron Valley

We are seeking an Estate Gardener / Groundskeeper to work as part of our enthusiastic team to continue to develop and maintain the estate's stunning grounds and gardens.

Your time would be split between our walled gardens, holiday cottage gardens, shrub beds, landscaped grounds and the wider estate.

Duties include:

Working as part of the garden team on seasonal garden maintenance Maintenance and development of holiday cottage gardens Maintenance and development of lawns, woodland gardens, shrub beds, meadows, arboretum and hedging. Maintenance of riverbanks of the Mayen House Beat. Maintenance and development of roads, paths, ditches, ponds and fencing. Working alongside other Estate Workers on woodland management, including planting, felling, pruning, and wood chipping/ log cutting. Maintenance of plant, equipment and tools
Desirable skills, experience and qualifications required:

An attention to detail, good housekeeping and timekeeping Excellent team working skills Creativity and enthusiasm A minimum of 5 years experience in Horticulture Horticulture Qualifications Chainsaw cross cutting and tree felling and other power machinery certificates Chemical and spraying certificates
Salary is competitive and based on experience

40 hours per week

Horticulture: 2 years (preferred)
