Job Description

Overview:

We are looking for a highly experienced, dynamic and hands-on estate manager to oversee the smooth running of a pristine country residence. The estate is currently made up of circa 70 acres with stunning gardens and a 15,000 sq ft houses which will undergo extension in the near future. There is already a small but highly proficient team in place.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday role, working 07:30 to 16:30, however some out of hours work will be required as necessary, especially to deal with emergencies or via arrangements with the principals. Flexibility is essential to accomodate the requirements of the family.

Equestrian experience will also be helpful.

Dog experience essential.

Duties will include but not be limited to:



Overall management of estate including staff (1x housekeeper, 3x grounds maintenance/general staff) administering annual leave of other staff via Bright HR

Maintaining lawns - mowing, feeding, scarifying, herbicide etc

Ordering lawn treatments etc

Plant hire when required

Appointment of and liaising with external contractors e.g. window cleaners, pest control, pool maintenance, chimney sweeps etc

Vehicles: maintenance & valeting. Ensuring servicing, MOT etc up to date

Tree surgery & maintenance

Security

Expenditure recording - invoices/receipts to be submitted to accountants each month

The property will be undergoing a period of refurbishment next year which you will be required to oversee and report back to the principals

Weekly inspections of the house to check for items requiring maintenance and to ensure the house and grounds are immaculately presented and secure

Be flexible and will be required to assist at other properties belonging to the principals in London when necessary

Candidate requirements:



This role requires a candidate who works with precision and accuracy, who is proactive and has an exceptional eye for detail. Meticulous organisational skills are essential.

The candidate must be confident managing projects as well as comfortable being hands on and carrying out manual tasks around the estate.

You need to be respectful and take care in your work, and show a genuine passion for estate management.

It is essential that you have experience in a similar role, can work with little management, and be able to motivate, enthuse and lead a happy estate team.

Excellent communication skills and ability to manage external contractors/visitors is essential/.

Knowledge of gardening, plants, woodland management, irrigation systems.

Landscaping experience.

Competency operating and maintaining diggers, tractors etc

Competent in use and maintenance of various gardening equipment eg strimmers, leaf blowers, ride-on mowers, chainsaws, hedge cutters, trailers etc..

DBS check required at offer stage



Accommodation:


1 bedroom staff flat available which is large enough to accommodate a partner but not children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 50,000.00-55,000.00 per year
