POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the strategic planning and operations across Demand and Supply Planning and IBP for the UK Region Supply Chain. Key deliverables include Fill rate, Product availability, Inventory Optimization, forecast attainment, Bias and Forecast Accuracy though Integrated Business Planning.
This role is also responsible for all dimensions of PLAN synchronization and orchestration (Commercial, Demand, Supply, Marketing, Finance) and has ownership of the long-term sustainability of ELC\xe2\x80\x99s IBP, at both the region and global level. From a \xe2\x80\x9cRun\xe2\x80\x9d standpoint this role is responsible for driving an operating IBP which is robust, follows the principles of an Integrated Plan, is aligned cross-functionally, and supports ELC\xe2\x80\x99s regional business strategy. From a \xe2\x80\x9cTransform\xe2\x80\x9d standpoint this role will continue to lead the development and implementation of regional capability, processes, systems, and organizational development to build a robust IBP capability.
This position plays a critical leadership role as well as identifying, prioritizing, and delivering capabilities that support ELC\'s long term growth opportunities through regional opportunities, and aligning regions with global priorities.
This is a Regional role that also drives business execution in a complex multi-channel region with annual net sales of close to $1bn.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES

Demand and Supply Planning

  • Provide leadership and daily management across two Supply Chain departments with the primary responsibility of delivering continuous improvement in the Region across Service level, inventory management and forecast accuracy results
  • Responsible for managing a sizable operating budget
  • Manage the targeting and delivery of Regional inventory goals across a complex multi-channel environment.
  • Deliver right-sized inventory through continually enhancing the supply planning process, optimizing the position to support fill rate and product availability objectives while striving to reduce waste and excess inventory
  • Identify the break-through opportunities to improve the forecast accuracy and service level
  • Deliver a best-in-class Integrated Business Planning processes through decision and exception focused monthly cycles, collaborating and engaging with Brands and Finance teams, influencing the financial planning process and driving effective business decisions
  • Lead the regional Integrated Business Planning process with the UK Executive Leadership Team, influencing wider business
decisions and driving traction across corporate wide initiatives. Also represent the UK region at the Global forums and corporate SIOP meetings. * Effectively and pro-actively communicate and manage Supply Chain risk both internally and externally across launch, events and core business facilitating business mitigation plans
  • Member of the UK Supply Chain Leadership Team responsible for building and delivering the Supply Chain strategy across people, systems and process. Represent the UK Region Supply Chain at key internal and external meetings.
  • Regional Process Owner (RPO) for Demand and Supply Planning supporting the Global Centre of Excellence in broader Supply Chain initiatives and advancing the technical design of IT systems to enhance Supply Chain processes
  • Strive to develop and build the best talent through coaching and development of team, succession planning and recruitment of the highest quality
  • Influence and manage the relationship between Supply Chain and brands, global and region to ensure an effective planning process for the region
  • Being the voice of the UK region on global initiatives and influencing the decision with regional needs
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution for planning across multiple brands and channels including traditional bricks and Direct to Consumer, establishing KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Co-create and cascade annual strategy in line with ELC UK&I strategy in conjunction with VP SC and the SCLT
  • Implement strategy, track progress and make changes as required
  • Lead through the transformation and changes of planning capability incl. new system, process, way of working etc.
  • Understand external landscape of innovation and technology
Regional IBP processes:
  • Assists regional president in understanding holistic review of business
  • Leads regional IBP including recruiting, training, and managing IBP resources
  • Develop and enhance of IBP guidelines and guardrails for the region
  • Partner and coach regional GMs and functional teams (supply, demand, marketing, finance) to help educate, install, and increase IBP concepts across the region
  • Responsible for reviewing and benchmarking against IBP best practices, both internally and externally
  • Ensures right inputs, completeness, accuracy, and quality of plans in IBP process and monthly IBP process (e.g., setting cadence, stitching regional plans, syncing with global OpCom)
  • Owns deployment of enterprise processes in region and drives IBP capability development incl. category perspective
  • Guide DP-SP-LE alignment and help shape commercial discussions to align with DP-SP-LE signals
  • Partner with brand and affiliate GMs to shape conversations on demand shaping, inventory steering, and availability
  • Owns promo planning (completeness, quality, level loading) to ensure appropriate investments
  • Provide margin perspectives to support LE investments based on commercial insights
  • Establish a robust process to integrate sales planning, budgeting (risk & opportunity), pricing, margin and demand plan etc. with brand, category and channel perspective
  • Appropriately challenges regional demand planning assumptions to be higher than LE but ensure constrained demand plan reflects supply sufficiency
  • Work with regional marketing and supply chain to ensure regional HTSM sufficiency - product, supply, and marketing sufficiency
  • Ensures development and implementation of tools, technology, and data to be adopted regionally
  • Develop and launch planning dashboards and tools that facilitate affiliate level planning for regional roll up
  • Support key capability reviews such as square and gravity (inter-regional perspectives)
  • Works with regional APEX PMO to ensure regional APEX progress is on track
  • Ensures best-practice adoption and drives continuous improvement through tools, technologies, and processes
Global IBP standardization and implementation:
  • Helps shape and create best practice global IBP process and provides process perspectives, ways of working, and IBP standards based on regional nuances
  • Ensure successful completion of IBP meetings and tight linkages between critical IBP decision forums
  • Educate and elevate the organizational understanding of the importance of IBP including key metrics for process
  • Stakeholder management and ensuring right support and ownership of the program and overcoming barriers to adoption
  • Ensure development and implementation of tools, technology, and data to be adopted regionally
Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS ROLE
  • Wide ranging Supply Chain experience, with deep knowledge of planning, preferably in large FMCG
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing large teams and creating a high performance culture
  • Strong business & financial acumen with a background in operations and supply chain, having owned multiple elements of a plan in the past or all elements including IBP, SI&OP, Demand Planning, Commercial Plans, Budgeting, replenishment & allocation
  • Track record of successful experience for S&OP or IBP transformation in a similar environment
  • Experience in navigating highly-matrixed, complex orgs operating multi-brands, multi-channel
  • Experience managing large budgets
  • Ability to interpret data and translate into insights, stories and actions
  • Proactive with proven delivery of transformation initiatives
  • Self-directed and focused on continuous improvement
  • Confident communicator who brings gravitas and is effective at influencing decision making with senior management and key stakeholders to drive business results
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong understanding of IBP as well as implementation and change agent experience
  • Background in managing executive stakeholder engagement and engaging comfortably with top executives
  • Regional experience, preferably having worked in more than one country
  • Ability to coach and counsel members of the regional organization through large scale rollouts
  • Skilled in managing through highly complex, matrixed organizations
