Job Description


Our client is currently recruiting for an Estimator. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a contract basis.ROLE:The role of Estimator is responsible for receipt, control, preparation and estimating of all enquiries and invitation to tender done in such a manner as to ensure an effective and timeous response to prospective clients. The Estimator must support in the overall delivery of the company's business objectives through the aligning of deliverables to that of the individual Business Unit strategy.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishing good working relationships with all managers and supervisors to ensure that information is readily available so that all enquiries and tenders can be responded to efficiently.
  • Acting as a liaison between the company and client for the purpose of clarification of tenders/enquiries.
  • The receipt, distribution and disposition of all enquiries and invitations to tender received by the fabrication facility including:
  • Registering receipt of all enquiries/tenders on the bid register and arranging correct distribution.
  • Estimating the cost of all enquiries /tenders received by the fabrication facility utilising a spreadsheet format.
  • Accurately costing of enquiries/tenders and passing relevant information onto management for decision whether to bid or not based upon customer requirements and company capability. Responsible for ensuring that accurate records and archiving systems are maintained for enquiries and tenders to ensure that all information is readily retrievable.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience of using and manipulating computer based estimating models
  • Experience in compiling and presenting tender responses
  • Experience in Oil & Gas steel fabrication.
Preferred
  • A Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent estimating experience within engineering or fabrication Knowledge of Subsea operations and needs.
  • Knowledge of offshore fabrication specifications (EEMUA, NORSOK, DNV).
  • Working knowledge of material grades.
  • Ability to read & interpret structural drawings, piping isometrics & P&IDs Estimator
  • Ability to effectively price Structural & Piping scopes
