Our projects are technically complex, design-driven, and executed to the highest standards of craftsmanship. We work predominantly with timber and veneers, but also use a wide range of other materials. We operate primarily within the high-quality residential and marine sectors.
The Role:
We are seeking an
Estimator & Financial Controller of Projects
with
proven, directly relevant experience
in high-end bespoke furniture / specialist joinery, and complex interior fit-out. This is a senior position requiring in-depth knowledge, preferably acquired in part through hands-on cabinetmaking, or furniture design, experience and an established track record of successfully tendering for and managing the financial aspects of technically demanding, design-led projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce accurate, detailed cost estimates for bespoke furniture and joinery projects.
In collaboration with the commercial director, to liaise with potential clients to value engineer and provide pre-contract advice.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare thorough cost breakdowns.
To provide information to the production manager and project teams in relation to budgets for time and cost.
When successful in bidding, to carry our start-up meetings to brief the project teams.
Track variations, control risks, and safeguard project profitability.
Provide clear and timely financial reporting to senior management and accounts staff.
Refine estimating and financial control processes to strengthen business performance.
Essential Requirements:
Significant, recent experience (minimum 5+ years) as an estimator or project financial controller within a high-end bespoke furniture and interiors manufacturer.
Demonstrable track record of controlling costs and delivering accurate estimates on
technically complex, design-led projects

In-depth understanding of bespoke furniture production processes and the unique challenges of custom projects.
Strong commercial judgement and financial acumen.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both creative and technical professionals.
Proficiency in estimating using Excel, or another piece of software.
