We're looking for a skilled and motivated Estimator to join our established construction team. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of cross-sector refurbishment experience, with additional capability in small-scale new build schemes, handling project values up to 10 million.

Working closely with the Head of Estimates you'll be expected to operate with a good level of autonomy throughout the tender process, demonstrating both initiative and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for refurbishment and new build projects across sectors (commercial, education, residential, industrial, etc.) Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed Schedules of Work (SOWs) as part of the tender process Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations Identify and fill any gaps using rates, hours, and labour assumptions where needed Apply value engineering principles where appropriate to ensure best value for the client Participate in post-tender negotiations and clarifications

Requirements

Proven experience as an Estimator within cross-sector refurbishment and small-scale new build environments Comfortable working with project values up to 10 million Strong understanding of competitive tendering processes Excellent attention to detail and a thorough, methodical approach Proficient in Excel, Word, and general computer systems Confident in making informed assumptions when required Proactive and unafraid to tackle challenges head-on Able to work largely autonomously but always with team support on hand A team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
