Our client, a well-established medium-sized

M&E contractor

, is seeking an experienced

Mechanical Estimator

to join their expanding team. They deliver a broad range of

mechanical and electrical building services projects

across the commercial sector and have a strong reputation for quality, consistency, and long-standing client relationships.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed estimating work, a mixed project portfolio, and being part of a supportive, well-structured business.

The Role

You will take responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive

mechanical tenders

across multiple commercial and public-sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare mechanical estimates for a variety of building services projects. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation. Complete detailed take-offs for mechanical systems and equipment. Produce tender submissions, cost breakdowns, and clarifications. Support value engineering proposals where required. Ensure tenders are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

About You

A technically competent and detail-focused estimator with solid building services experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience as a Mechanical Estimator, or a practical background such as plumbing, pipefitting, mechanical installation, with exposure to quoting, pricing or estimating. Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems. Ability to interpret drawings and technical documents confidently. Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers and subcontractors. High numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tenders at once.

Desirable

Knowledge of the Bedfordshire supply chain. Familiarity with software such as Trimble or Simpro
