The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join a specialist subcontractor delivering carpentry and roofing packages across commercial, education, residential and public sector developments. As an Estimator, you'll price projects of varying scale, supporting tender submissions for both main contractors and developers across the South West.

You'll work closely with a skilled operational team, gaining autonomy to secure profitable work while ensuring competitive and accurate tenders.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

Preparing tenders, cost plans and measured estimates for carpentry and roofing work packages. Reviewing drawings, scope documents and specifications. Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. Supporting value engineering through material and method analysis. Preparing BOQs, labour breakdowns and pricing schedules. Supporting handover to commercial and delivery teams. Maintaining knowledge of market rates and supply chain trends.
About You

Estimating experience with a subcontractor or main contractor (carpentry or roofing preferred). Strong measurement skills and ability to interpret technical drawings. Good commercial awareness and understanding of tender strategy. Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients and site teams. Organised, proactive and able to work to tender deadlines.
