Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Estimator to join our pre-construction team. You will play a key role in securing new work by producing accurate, competitive, and high-quality tender submissions.
Key ResponsibilitiesTender Coordination
Receive, log, and manage incoming enquiries in line with QA procedures.
Review tender documentation and prepare any required RFIs/Technical Queries.
Produce complete tender submissions including pricing summaries, clarifications, and client-specific deliverables.
Prepare tender handover packs and participate in handover meetings after contract awards.
Estimating & Cost Analysis
Complete detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
Build accurate cost estimates using client or internal pricing documents.
Evaluate specialist material and subcontractor quotations for commercial and technical suitability.
Support design & build tenders in collaboration with in-house engineers.
Identify value-engineering opportunities and propose alternative materials or solutions.
Supplier & Subcontractor Management
Prepare and issue enquiries for specialist materials and subcontract works.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive and accurate pricing.
Work with the procurement team to ensure vendor information is current and complete.
Client Engagement
Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout the tender process.
Attend pre- and post-tender meetings and settlement discussions.
Respond to clarifications and present Emeg's tender proposals to maximise contract opportunities.
Project Support
Assist operations and commercial teams with procurement schedules and subcontract packages.
Support the pricing of variations throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain awareness of site activities and flag any relevant exclusions, clarifications, or technical queries.
What We're Looking For
Previous estimating experience within the rail, construction, electrical, or M&E sectors (rail preferred).
Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and estimating software.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year
