Talbot Landscapes supplies a full range of landscaping and related services to the construction, public realm, sports terrain and other markets.
Based near Derby in the heart of the English midlands we advise, construct and maintain sustainable landscaping services in many different areas throughout the UK such as construction sites, council amenities, city parks and recreational areas, large country estates, premier sporting surfaces, the playing fields of our best schools, many realm locations and numerous housing developments.
We are reliable partners supplying turf to elite performance surfaces including the Olympic Stadium, Championship golf courses and local golf clubs, the top performing football clubs including Premiership pitches and training grounds and our best rugby football and league clubs.
You will be supported by a senior estimator and work closely with the sales, contracts , operations and QS managers from tender submissions right through to delivery. The role predominantly involves the scoping, quantification and pricing a range of landscaping projects and sports pitch construction.
Development
In addition to the day to day support, we will put a development plan in place to ensure you get all relevant training and exposure to a variety of projects and sectors to develop your skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
Quantification from architectural and landscape drawings.
Costing Labour, Plant and Materials.
Liaising with suppliers and if required, external sub-contractors.
Value engineering, liaising with internal departments, architects, engineers and clients.
Produce quotations and scope documents / drawings.
Qualifications and Skills
Preferred - minimum of two years experience in landscaping or construction environment
Ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated to arrange daily diary and work as part of a team without constant supervision.
The ability to work calmly under pressure - ability to manage multiple tenders
Good planning and organisational skills.
Show good initiative and enthusiasm.
Experience with CAD is preferable but not essential.
Spreadsheet skills are important.
