The Role:
As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing and managing detailed cost estimates across a portfolio of heavy industrial projects. You'll liaise directly with project managers, engineers, and client teams to compile competitive and accurate tenders -- often juggling multiple projects simultaneously. You'll need strong attention to detail, proactive communication skills, and confidence handling fast-paced estimating environments.
Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates for new tenders and ongoing client work
Analyse drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Liaise with internal QSs, engineers, and supply chain partners
Maintain cost databases and pricing benchmarks
Support bid strategy and pricing schedules
Oversee multiple projects from early stages to submission
You'll Need:
Experience as an Estimator in industrial, infrastructure, or civils environments
Ability to work on several tenders concurrently
Strong take-off and cost-planning skills
Comfortable with estimating software (e.g. Candy, Causeway, Excel-based systems)
A proactive, adaptable mindset and genuine passion for estimating
Strong communication skills and client-facing confidence
Desirable (not essential):
Experience working within a QS consultancy or outsourced estimating environment
Exposure to international or cross-border projects
Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or engineering
