Job Description

Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting our organisation in achieving cost-effective project delivery. The role will include the creation of quotations from Engineers Jobsheets using our BigChange CRM ensuring that all the correct details have been obtained, and that prices for the equipment have been sourced from our suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the door industry and construction, have excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Responsibilities



Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather relevant data and clarify project requirements. Develop comprehensive budgets that include labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Monitor ongoing projects to ensure costs remain within budgetary constraints and identify potential overruns early. Assist in the development of bid proposals and tender submissions. Provide recommendations on cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety standards. Support project managers with accurate financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle. Answering emails and phone queries from clients and able to deal with appropriately

Requirements



Proven experience as an Estimator within the related industrial door industry Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations. Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
