With a growing portfolio of work in the healthcare sector, we are seeking an Estimator to join our expanding pre-construction team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company that combines a genuine focus on quality and compliance in clinical environments.
As an Estimator for Apollo Interiors Ltd you will play a key role and be responsible for estimating the costs of potential build projects for the business. Taking your brief directly from potential clients at initial site meetings and working from preliminary layout drawings, you will develop competitive cost schedules for tenders and other new business enquiries. A confident communicator, you will be as comfortable negotiating with suppliers as you are querying potential clients on their project requirements. Working with Directors and Project Managers you will be integral to maintaining a robust project pipeline for the business.
Main responsibilities
Meet with potential clients to better understand project requirements before pricing
Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for medical and commercial interior fit-out projects
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess project scope and risk
Obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare bills of quantities and detailed cost breakdowns
Attend client meetings, site visits, and pre-tender briefings where required
Liaise with design, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure alignment on scope and pricing
Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
Maintain an accurate database of pricing information and supplier contacts
Support with the management and pricing of project variations, once projects are live
Essential skills & experience
Minimum 3 years experience as an Estimator within a fit-out or interiors main contractor
Proven track record of pricing healthcare, medical, or laboratory projects preferred
Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and MEP integration
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Proficient in using Microsoft Office systems
Ability to read CAD drawings in line with a Scope of Works
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to construct a scope of works for pricing based on the client's brief
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong Commercial awareness
