We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Full-time Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have good experience in estimation, preferably in Carpentry and Roofing projects. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive pricing for our clients while maintaining profitability for the business
Key Responsibilities
Prepare high-quality quotations by evaluating potential projects on site and from drawings, specifications, and related documents
Analyse project requirements, including materials, labour, equipment, and time needed to complete the works.
Conduct on-site assessments to gather accurate information for estimates
Collaborate with project mangers, architects, and on site teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of project scope
Develop detailed cost estimates for bespoke structural carpentry, roofing and interior fit-out projects
Identify potential risks and challenges in projects and factor them into estimates
Research and stay updated on market prices for materials, labour, and subcontractor costs
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and internal teams
Revise estimates as needed based on client feedback or project changes
Maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference
Assist in the development of project timelines and schedules
Participate in project handover meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimation to completion
Continuously improve estimation processes and techniques within the business
Monitor project costs throughout and analyse variations
Provide regular reports on estimation accuracy and project profitability
Experience Required
Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry
Strong understanding of cost control techniques and budgeting processes.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents effectively.
Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
