Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting the overall budgeting process. Responsibilities

Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather relevant data and ensure accuracy in estimates. Develop detailed budgets for projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and overheads. Monitor ongoing project costs against initial estimates to identify variances and recommend corrective actions. Assist in tender preparation by compiling competitive and realistic cost proposals. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market prices for materials and labour to ensure accurate forecasting. Support cost control initiatives throughout the project lifecycle by analysing trends and implementing cost-saving measures.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors. Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office suite. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills. Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
