Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting the overall budgeting process. This role is vital in ensuring projects are financially viable and align with client specifications. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in cost control to contribute effectively to our organisation's success.

Duties

Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and required resources Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and constraints Monitor and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes or new information Assist in the development of bid proposals and tender submissions Conduct market research to identify current prices for materials and services Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client expectations Support cost control initiatives by analysing variances between estimated and actual costs

Experience

Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors Strong understanding of cost control principles and budgeting processes Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
