Job Title: Estimator

Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our DPD Business Unit for an Estimator. This is an excellent role for someone with a sales/engineering background, or those qualified by experience, who is eager to apply their technical knowledge in a commercially focused environment.

As an Estimator, you'll collaborate closely with our Sales, Engineering, and Production teams to deliver accurate, competitive, and timely quotations that help bring our customers' projects to life. You'll play a key role in driving efficiency, innovation, and value across our business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates in response to sales enquiries, engaging directly with customers when required Analyse material requirements, subcontractor costs, and availability to ensure competitive and achievable proposals Prepare and maintain comprehensive preliminary bills of materials Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction and process optimisation Provide technical input to support continuous improvement and process development initiatives Contribute to cross-functional projects, applying your expertise to enhance overall business performance
Experience

Previous estimating experience is advantageous but not essential Background in a manufacturing or production environment Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, standards, and specifications Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and methods
Skills & Attributes

Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confident IT user with solid Microsoft Office skills Flexible, proactive, and motivated to develop and grow within the role
Qualifications

Relevant professional qualification, or qualified by experience
