Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager, the Estimator will help prepare accurate, competitive quotations for projects. You will interpret drawings, liaise with suppliers, and ensure all estimates align with company objectives and professional standards.

Duties

Assist in preparing quotations and tender submissions.

Interpret architectural and structural drawings and technical specifications.

Obtain supplier quotations and price materials and services.

Ensure estimates comply with internal pricing and margin requirements.

Upload and manage enquiries within the CRM and document systems.

Respond professionally to customer enquiries and provide updates.

Organise and maintain sales and estimating documents.

Follow up on submitted quotations and track feedback.

Build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.

Support sales meetings with updates on quotations and pipeline activity.

Identify opportunities for cost-saving, value engineering, and process improvement.

Uphold and promote Steel Build Ltd's values and professional standards.

Previous experience in estimating, ideally within construction or steelwork.

Confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Strong numeracy and attention to detail.

Skilled in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems an advantage.

A positive communicator and team player.

Skills

Proven experience in estimating within the construction or manufacturing sectors. Strong numerical ability with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and team members. Knowledge of cost control principles and practices to ensure accurate budgeting. Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities. This position is ideal for candidates who are meticulous, proactive, and eager to contribute their expertise towards successful project delivery.
