Summary
We are looking for an additional, accomplished and seasoned Construction Estimator to join our team. In this critical role, you will develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for diverse construction projects during the tendering and pre-construction stages. Working closely with our existing Estimator and Operations Director, you will help establish competitive and realistic pricing strategies that align with our company's goals. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget and on schedule, driving the success of our operations.

Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Tendering:
Review project plans, specifications, and relevant documents to prepare precise and detailed cost estimates.
Prepare and submit competitive tenders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client requirements.
Identify cost-saving strategies to optimise bids and improve project profitability.
Undertake site surveys and scoping visits.
Market and Supplier Analysis:
Conduct research on market trends, material costs, labour rates, and supplier pricing.
Build and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable rates.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Collaborate with the existing Estimator, Operations Director, and clients throughout the bid process.
Collect and organise quotes for future reference and use throughout the project lifecycle.
Process Improvement:
Enhance estimation processes and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Stay updated on industry advancements and innovative cost estimation practices.
Sourcing new tender portals and pricing opportunities.
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated experience as a Construction Estimator within the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.
Expertise in cost control techniques and best practices.
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Possess strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Project, Outlook and Excel for cost calculations.
