Estimator - Utilities / Civil Engineering

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established utilities and civil engineering contractor for an

Estimator

to join their team at their Walsall offices. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator looking for a stable, long-term role within a reputable business delivering electrical infrastructure and multi-utility projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical, utilities, and civil engineering projects. Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to produce accurate pricing. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather quotations and technical details. Identify potential risks and value engineering opportunities. Support the project delivery team with commercial input during tender and pre-construction phases. Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Estimator within utilities, electrical, or civil engineering sectors. Strong understanding of tendering procedures, pricing structures, and cost analysis. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and estimating software. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative office team.

Package

Salary:

40,000 - 55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
