Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

The Role:

As an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the pre- and post-contract phases of commercial refurbishment projects. You'll be responsible for cost estimating, tendering, Procurement of suppliers valuations, and cost control throughout the lifecycle of each project as well as pre construction contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial refurbishment projects. Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare tender and cost plans. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Assist in tender submissions and pricing strategies. Track project costs, manage variations, and monitor overall budget performance. Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure financial efficiency and project success. Carry out site visits and valuations where necessary. Prepare and issue interim valuations and final accounts.

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or a combined role, ideally in the commercial refurbishment or fit-out sector. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations. Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
