Hidden pizza is looking for an experienced freelance, catering event leader/manager to be part of our team. We are based in Gillingham, Dorset

We are a thriving events catering business specialising in wood-fired pizza. We trade at a number of public events through the summer, as well as catering lots of weddings and private events. These events are throughout the south of England and Wales. You will be expected to camp at the longer events.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Events Catering Manager to lead private and public events and ensure the delivery of exceptional catering services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary and hospitality experience, and the ability to work. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a thriving catering business, manage a team, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality across various catering events.

The Job will start between March 27-31st tbc and continue until early September

Interviewing will initially be by phone. Should you be successful you must be available for face to face interviews in Gillingham, Dorset between March 16-20th.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of catering operations, including planning, food preparation, and presentation. Supervise and manage catering staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient service delivery. At longer events, be able to manage your team effectively. Having an awareness of the individual's energy levels. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout all catering activities. Manage stock levels throughout the event, making sure we don't run out in service. Thinking ahead to make sure enough stock has been defrosted, for example. Lead the kitchen team during food preparation, cooking, and serving processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently. Maintain detailed food safety records and health & safety documentation. Collaborate with event organisers and clients to ensure seamless execution of catering services at various venues. Driving vans and trailers to and from events (preferably)

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a catering or hospitality environment. Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working atmosphere. Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills. Background in event catering and hospitality is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential. Experience in food production, kitchen management, or hospitality roles such as serving or barista work is advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure. Leadership qualities combined with exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members. Clean driving license and trailer experience preferable. Trailer training can be provided.

Pay: 14.50-16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 70 per week
