Overview



Event Security Officers are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at events such as concerts, festivals, sports games, conferences, and other public or private gatherings. They play a key role in crowd management, access control, and ensuring compliance with event and venue regulations.

Key Responsibilities



Access Control:

Manage entry and exit points, check tickets or passes, and prevent unauthorised access.

Crowd Management:

Monitor crowd behaviour, manage queues, and ensure public safety during busy periods.

Patrolling:

Conduct regular security patrols across the venue or event area to identify potential risks or hazards.

Conflict Resolution:

Handle incidents calmly and professionally, de-escalating conflicts when necessary.

Emergency Response:

Act promptly during emergencies (e.g., fire, medical incident, evacuation) following site-specific procedures.

Customer Service:

Provide assistance and information to attendees in a professional and approachable manner.

Incident Reporting:

Record and report security incidents, breaches, or hazards accurately in line with company policy.

Collaboration:

Work closely with event organisers, stewards, and local authorities (e.g., police, emergency services) to ensure a coordinated approach to event safety.

Requirements



Valid SIA Licence

(Door Supervisor) - essential.

Previous experience

in event or venue security (desirable but not always required).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm

and make sound decisions under pressure.

Good level of physical fitness

- able to stand for long periods and manage crowd movements if needed.

Professional appearance and attitude.

Flexibility

to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event schedules.

Typical Working Conditions



Work is often outdoors or in large venues. Shifts may vary depending on event schedules, often including late nights and weekends. The role may involve long hours standing, walking, or monitoring large crowds.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-12.51 per hour
