As an Event Technology Project Manager, you shall stand at the vanguard of this mission, advancing innovative and impactful strategies that accord with this event-driven vision for the future.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Event Technology & Registration Project Manager shall serve both as a lead and as a consultant on medium- to large-scale in-person and digital events conducted concurrently, encompassing marquee engagements of over 10,000 in-person attendees, 200,000 digital participants, and other high-touch projects. This appointment carries responsibility for the project management of event registration and digital platforms, including collaboration with clients and stakeholders to devise effective event experiences-spanning registration tool development, digital platforms, and attendee-facing technology suites-together with the oversight of vendors and the active management of attendee registration.
The role encompasses the stewardship of the digital experience of events in their entirety, at times independently and at others in leadership of, or in partnership with, a team. The incumbent shall lead and supervise Opus staff engaged in event support functions, ensuring that planning schedules are observed, budgets are upheld, Opus processes are duly implemented, and client expectations are both anticipated and surpassed.
This is a client-facing position, working in close concert with Opus Project Managers, Technical Architects, and Attendee Support personnel to deliver experiences of distinction, delighting our Fortune 100 and 500 corporate clientele.
YOU SHOULD HAVE
A minimum of five years' experience in a relevant capacity, with strong preference given to candidates possessing expertise in corporate events utilising platforms such as Rainfocus, Stova, Swoogo, Cvent, and Eventbase.
Demonstrable success in the management of high-touch projects or events, executed seamlessly from conception through to completion.
Preferred:
Experience in session content management and associated tools (e.g., Rainfocus, Stova), together with proficiency in session scanning and lead-retrieval management.
A bachelor's degree from a four-year institution is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as workstream lead on major events, encompassing approximately 10,000 in-person attendees and 200,000 digital participants.
Independently manages and supervises all assigned responsibilities across a variety of event types, concurrently overseeing multiple projects.
Provides consultancy to clients on registration website builds and digital tool configuration, actively contributing to the scoping of bespoke events within the area of focus.
Establishes and enforces workback timelines to ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepares and maintains documentation, while managing content for registration websites and digital tools.
Demonstrates proficiency with both established and emerging digital tools and platforms, including an understanding of functionality, its impact on user experience, and the resolution of technical challenges.
Possesses a high-level understanding of all facets of digital events and event registration (finance, housing, web), and is able to advise clients with authority on these matters.
Participates actively in team and client meetings, documenting outcomes, and is capable of leading complex discussions involving multiple stakeholders.
Conducts demonstrations of registration websites and digital event platform functionality.
Completes all projects efficiently, meeting both time and budgetary requirements by employing the most effective methods of execution.
Contributes to internal training initiatives and proposes enhancements to departmental resources and processes.
Regularly applies advanced Excel formulas and is able to create, refine, and present reports to client teams.
Oversees registration areas onsite, managing multiple kiosks, badge printers, and giveaways.
Supervises onsite teams and acts as client point of contact as required.
Develops attendee support plans independently or in partnership with the Customer Service Lead.
Understands badge security protocols and is capable of devising new plans as necessary.
Formulates risk mitigation strategies and adapts swiftly to evolving circumstances requiring changes to established plans.

TRAVEL AND FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE REQUIRED
This position is required to travel to attend events. Air travel and overnight stays are required. There will occasionally be the need to work outside standard business hours.
