Purpose of the Role

To lead on the hands-on delivery of income-generating events and public-facing activities across the charity. This role will work across teams to coordinate and support summer clubs, workshops, community fundraising events, corporate experiences and volunteer engagement. It is a practical role with a strong focus on visibility, impact and income growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Income-Generating Event Delivery

- Deliver with the appropriate teams paid-for activities such as children's parties, holiday clubs, and workshops.
- Support the launch and growth of a commercially viable summer club offer
- Coordinate set-up, running and pack-down for events and experiences
- Promote and support booking systems and enquiries, ensuring activities are accessible and well-attended

2. Cross-Organisation Event Support

- Assist with the delivery of events for fundraising, volunteering, rehoming and community teams
- Work in partnership with internal leads to support logistics, volunteer rotas, supplies and attendee experience
- Maintain a shared events calendar and ensure planning and delivery aligns with branch priorities

3. Community and Corporate Engagement

- Deliver experiences linked to our sponsorship and business engagement programmes.
- Represent the charity at public-facing events such as shows, markets and outreach visits
- Help capture content for marketing, including photos, quotes and impact stories

4. Resources and Operations

- Maintain event materials, branded stock and kit
- Liaise with suppliers, venues and partners as needed
- Monitor income and attendance figures to support future planning

Person Specification

Essential:

- Experience delivering events or public-facing activities
- Organised, practical and confident in setting up and running sessions independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and flexibility, with a can-do attitude
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport

Desirable:

- Experience in a charity, education or community setting
- Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety in event environments
- Familiarity with Cornwall and its local communities
- Basic promotional or social media skills to support event visibility

Additional Information

This is a new role and may evolve as our public engagement strategy develops. The Events and Activity Lead will be expected to work flexibly across departments, maintaining strong internal relationships and focusing on delivering meaningful, well-run events that contribute to income and impact. It is subject to an Enhanced DBS. It is currently funded as a 12 month fixed term contract.
