Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and client-focused Events & Engagement Manager that leads the development and delivery of community programmes, events, and fundraising activity. They will provide line management to a small staff team and oversee volunteer coordination across areas of the charity. The role includes hands-on delivery of community activity (approximately 5-6 hours per week), much of which is peer-led or supported by volunteers. Deputising for the CEO as operationally required.

Working Pattern:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays. 9am - 3pm.

Key Responsibilities

:

Leadership and Deputising -



Represent the CEO and the charity at external meetings, events, and with key stakeholders as required. Support organisational planning, problem?solving, and oversight. Deputising for the CEO, providing leadership and oversight in their absence.

Community Engagement and Program Delivery -



Accountable for the delivery and support of a small number of community groups and activities, including peer-led and volunteer-supported sessions. Coordinate and manage occasional community trips and walks (e.g. quarterly coach trips, monthly trips and monthly walks), supported by volunteers. Promote equality, diversity, and high standards of care. Support the ongoing development of the Buckler's Park Community Hub and community presence. Address and resolve complaints about services or provisions in a timely and respectful manner. Develop a strong community presence for ACBF to combat and reduce social isolation across Bracknell and surrounding areas through various social events / initiatives.

Events & Fundraising Development -



Develop an annual fundraising and events plan. Manage community fundraising (bucket collections, golf days, fairs, etc.). Build business and community partnerships. Support marketing activities. Manage small?scale grant applications and reporting.

Health and Safety -



Ensure proportionate risk assessments are in place for community activities and buildings, reviewing these as required. Ensure relevant building safety compliance for all events Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance. Maintain DBS compliance for staff and volunteers. Promote safe lone working.

Financial Management and Income Generation -



Maintain accurate income records. Handle cash responsibly / banking cash. Deliver the services within the agreed budget. Provide financial information when required. Offer additional support during charity events to boost fundraising initiatives.

Staff Management -



Line Managing Teams: Manage small number of staff members, ensuring their professional development and performance align with organisational goals. Volunteer Coordination: Manage volunteers responsible for supporting the delivery of community sessions, ensuring they are well-prepared, motivated, and aligned with the charity's values.

Essential

Proven ability to lead, guide, inspire, and motivate teams.

Effective decision-making under pressure.

Strong problem-solving and complaint resolution skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good skills in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

A team player with an open, collaborative style and a practical "can-do" approach.

Experience in planning and implementing community programs.

Experience of volunteer management, including recruitment and retention.

Experience in leading community groups and managing off site trips and events.

Proven ability to line manage diverse teams.

Ability to work with partner authorities.

Financial acumen including working within budgets and reporting

Desirable -



Previous experience as a deputy or in a similar senior role.

Experience in strategic planning and operational management.

Experience with community hub or facility management.

Event management experience.

Experience of supervising projects or events. Ideally within the voluntary or public sector.

Creative, resourceful and Innovative.

Experience of budgeting and handling petty cash floats.

Experience with health and safety management in a similar environment.

Experience in fundraising or income generation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 18,720.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 per week
