We undertake all aspects of event planning and delivery in-house, working with a trusted network of suppliers and contractors to ensure our events are of the highest possible quality and value for all attendees.

Our events take place in our Holborn offices (and to a lesser extent in Oxford and Camrbidge), including our client lounge and meeting rooms, as well as in partnership with renowned venues such as the Rosewood Hotel, the Natural History Museum, and Regents College.
We also work closely with our network of partners, such as Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Saracens, Southbank Centre, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the O2 to sponsor events and client hospitality.
The Events Manager is a part of the Marketing and Sales team within the Business Development Department. The Business Development team delivers key services, including Intermediary Development, Client Acquisition and Development, Insights, Events, Comms and PR, Digital Marketing, Brand and Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities
Supported by the Events Executive, the Events Manager will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating a variety of exciting and impactful events to enhance the firm's brand and client relationships.
As we operate a comprehensive events programme, this role will be required to regularly work events which are held outside of standard office hours.
  • Work closely with the Business Development account teams to determine the event objectives for their practice areas, secure dates and deliver client events
  • Working with Partners and senior legal stakeholders to advise on best approach to events, keeping a close eye on getting maximum value from the available budget
  • Work with the Events and Central Business Services teams on all aspects of pre-event production, including but not limited to securing dates, managing RSVPs, negotiating with suppliers, including the catering and hospitality teams and developing event materials such as guest packs and presentations
  • Managing in-person client events, including welcoming and assisting guests, managing suppliers and contractors, briefing trainees and event assistants and clear down
  • Providing in-person support at events for our offices in London, Cambridge and Oxford
  • Managing virtual events, including running webinars, briefing panelists, providing tech support during virtual events, and guest interactions
  • Managing and curating firmwide internal gatherings, such as the summer party, Partners' conference and children's Christmas party

with their New Thinking in conversation hybrid events with high profile speakers * Ensure effective post-event communications and monitoring, including recording attendees, updating budgets, assessing feedback and coordinating photography, films and event write ups
  • Work with the Digital Marketing team to publish event-related information, including pre- and post-event content plugging into the communications, marketing and events scheduling planner, the GRID
  • Work closely with the CRM team to maintain and update attendee lists using Interaction and HubSpot
  • Organise external hospitality for Partners with clients when required at events such as football and rugby matches and theatre performances
  • Manage firm's key entertainment and cultural partnerships, including V&A, Arsenal and the South Bank
  • Maintain a proactive outlook on trends and opportunities for events, including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Maintain the firm's event calendars and production schedules
  • Manage stock take and event resourcing

  • Strengthen the culture of "one team". Be a mentor and coach to more junior members of the team. Maintain a positive approach appropriate to a senior team member.

Skills/Experience
  • Strong creative skills with a track record of interesting, engaging events, both online and offline
  • Proven experience in event management running your own portfolio of events, preferably within a legal or professional services environment
  • Excellent communication and confidence in communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, building trust and good working relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail producing high quality output
  • Highly conscientious and organized; able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to remain calm and adapt under pressure while thinking on your feet
  • Strategic and creative thinking and a commercial perspective
  • The ability to manage budgets and multiple events simultaneously, with energy, enthusiasm, and drive
  • A dynamic, positive outlook with a flexible and proactive approach
  • A team-orientated approach, with the ability to demonstrate through experience and from interview that they have a strong commercial and client-led approach to their work
  • Experience using the CRM systems InterAction, Hubspot and Zoom is desirable, but not essential
