Role Description

Lotus is seeking an Evija Field Support Engineer to join our growing Aftersales team based at our Wellesbourne or Hethel headquarters. With demonstrated history of being a High-Class Technician, you\'ll be responsible for accurate investigation, fault finding and fixing of field issues to ensure the customer experience is positive.

Carrying out the ultimate service experience for the customer and uphold the Lotus brand and help improve.

Key Duties:

  • Support the organisation by investigating and resolving field issues, documenting resolution for fleet control
  • The role requires building and documenting technical knowledge of Evija prior to, during and after launch
  • Development of relationships with the dealer network and across the technical areas of the company will be key to succeeding in this
  • Working remotely where possible to maintain efficiency, the role will provide all aspects of technical support and advice to the key regional offices and escalation of issues within Lotus for support
  • Identification of safety and legislative issues will be a priority
  • Production of vehicle inspection/issue resolution and repair action plans
  • Assist with technical training, PR, Sales and the production of ASO training literature when required
  • Working closely with the diagnostics team to efficiently and effectively diagnose any fleet issues
  • Deliver support to Lotus Evija customer, key Lotus regional offices and vehicle owners
  • Engage the ASO Evija team and Field Quality team to provide and document solutions
  • Engage with the engineering team for effective diagnostics
  • Vehicle investigations will range from standard issue resolution to in-depth complex investigation, potentially with no defined process. Procedures and processes may not be in a mature state and so will require a logical and reasoned approach
Key Experience:

Our ideal candidate will -
  • Extensive whole vehicle diagnostic knowledge
  • Experience of dealership fault-finding processes and warranty processes
  • Evidence of a continuous improvement mentality of product, process, and self.
  • A desire to learn
  • Team building and collaborative approach with a recognition of the value of the different skill sets required to deliver quality to the customer
  • Ability to challenge colleagues in a constructive manner if there is a difference of opinion to support clear decision making based on facts
  • Must be confident with direct face-to-face dispute resolution with customers and dealers
Whilst not compulsory, our candidate will preferably also -
  • Knowledge of common automotive materials, their properties, and manufacturing processes and techniques
  • First principle knowledge of electrical, mechanical and thermodynamics
Others factors -
  • Office, home, and field based, so a high degree of personal organisation and time management required - Short notice and frequent international travel can be expected
  • Good communication skills are essential, specifically the ability to communicate detailed instructions with technical and non-technical staff
  • Good personal presentation is required as the role, at times, may be customer facing
  • Accurate and concise report writing and proficient use of Excel/Word/PowerPoint
  • High degree of autonomy and recognition of when to seek help and focus on one team approach
  • Knowledge of engineering software diagnostics systems (CANalyzer, CANoe, INDIGO, ETAS, INCA)
