EXAM INVIGILATOR / READER / SCRIBE - START DATE:

ASAP/November 2025

Band 2 Points 4 (13.32 - 13.59 per hour + pro rata Holiday Pay)

Casual Post during Exam season



We seek to appoint Exam Invigilators to expand our already strong team at Altrincham College; in particular, we are hoping to develop more invigilators who can read and/or scribe for students who have special access arrangements in place.



Invigilators will be paid on a casual basis (per hour); typically, for the exam set up time (30 minutes) and the length of the exams (a typical exam last 90 minutes and two three papers are sat per day). Invigilators will receive appropriate training, and this time will also be paid. Altrincham College will organise an enhanced DBS check, which is a requirement of working at the school, but applicants will be required to pay the annual fee (currently 16) to be on the DBS update service.



Working hours will be seasonal, with exams held before Christmas, in March and during the main Summer exam season (May-June). The main requirements for the role are strong written/spoken English, reliability, and the ability to commit to invigilating multiple exams during exam seasons.



This role would suit those who have taken early retirement, whose principal work is intermittent / seasonal, or those who have the flexibility to commit their time and earn additional income.
