Brighton Engineering depot have a great opportunity to join their team, we are recruiting for an Exam Lead - Days, Lates & Nights.

If your successful you will be......

Responsible for carrying out and coordinating routine maintenance & repairs in line with the grade and current maintenance plan requirements as directed by their Team Leader.


Provide effective communication between the team(s) and Production office team whilst providing coaching and mentoring to the staff; Carrying out maintenance and repairs in line with current maintenance plan and grade and those grades below them. Comply with safety systems and procedures at all times. Update maintenance records within company systems. Coordinate and lead team(s) to work effectively on exams and fault-finding activities; Provide a proactive review of forthcoming work; Proactively promoting continuous improvement ethos and looking for ways to improve quality and efficiency; Carry out non-maintenance related activities (e.g. Depot DP, Forklift etc.) as directed by your Team Leader and where competent to do so. Carry out all other duties up to Exam Lead where trained and competent to do so.

Do you have the following skills.........

minimum of SE1 competency; A minimum of two and half years of relevant engineering experience inclusive of training; Reasonable understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles. Able to meet the competency requirements for safety and task specific training. Have or working towards a coaching and mentoring qualification Familiar with (or able, with training, to become familiar with rolling stock maintained or repaired by GTR. Positive and professional attitude with leadership and motivational skills; Good working relationships; Ability to effectively solve problems in a safe and effective manner;
