Job Description

West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds 1 FTE - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Permanent Salary: 24,570 - 25,401 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Examinations Officer to support the effective delivery of public examinations across Eastern Education Group. You will ensure the smooth administration of examination entries, access arrangements, timetables, results, and communications, in full compliance with awarding body and JCQ regulations. This role requires a high level of accuracy to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities across busy examination cycles.

You will assist with the registration of students with awarding organisations, maintain accurate student and examination data, support access arrangements, and help ensure the secure handling of examination materials before, during, and after assessments. The role also includes processing entries, amendments, and results using secure systems, preparing invigilator packs, supporting audits, managing the despatch of scripts and certificates, and responding to queries from students, staff, and awarding bodies. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as you will liaise with a wide range of colleagues and external stakeholders and provide clear, professional support throughout the examinations process.

The successful candidate will be educated to Level 3, with Maths and English at Level 2 or above, and have strong experience in office administration. You will demonstrate excellent organisational capability, meticulous attention to detail, good IT and communication skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure as part of a team. Experience of examination administration within an education environment, use of systems such as Unite or SIMS, and an understanding of JCQ regulations would be advantageous.
