Examinations Officer

We have recently registered an excellent opportunity for an experienced and inspiring Examinations Officer to join the collaborative administrative and curriculum teams at an independent school in Oxford. This varied and autonomous role will involve the day-to-day management of the operational aspects of their examinations processes. This will include management of exam invigilators, exam scheduling and publishing, liaison with systems professionals for exam data handling and problem-solving exam related issues.

Please note that this role is predominately within term-time plus 5 days during the summer to support peak periods. This is a 40-week working pattern with set holiday date allowance outside of term-time.

Examinations Officer Responsibilities

This is a varied role that includes responsibility for:

  • Managing the process of coordinating internal and public exams
  • Acquiring and updating team on current examinations policies and procedures
  • Developing and delivering communications relaying examination schedules
  • Liaising with and supporting Senior Management with examinations related decision making
  • Managing invigilation team during examination period effectively

Examinations Officer Experience Essentials

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experience Examinations Officer or Coordinator who has worked in a similar educational environment. To be successful in this role you will need experience of meeting deadlines, highly organisational and a strong communicator both written and verbal. Knowledge of Student Information Management Systems and secondary examinations processes would be beneficial. Most importantly, a team spirit and a transparent work ethic would work well with the current team.
