Exams Coordinator



We are seeking an organised, proactive and adaptable

Exams Coordinator

to oversee the exam service across multiple sites, support tutors and learners, ensure full compliance with awarding body requirements and maintain high-quality processes that enable young people to achieve meaningful qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Oversee the exam service and organise the exam timetable



Ensure full compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations; maintain and update exam policies and contingency plans. Manage candidate registrations, exam entries, awarding body portals and exam management systems. Coordinate the full exam cycle across sites, including secure handling of papers and materials. Act as main contact for awarding bodies, verifiers, staff, students and parents/carers; disseminate information and respond to enquiries. Record and communicate results; organise certificate distribution. Work with the SEND Lead to ensure access arrangements. Support, organise and train invigilators and assessors; act as Lead Invigilator when required. Oversee the marking of entry level papers and ensure all documentation meets City & Guilds data storage requirements.

2. Support tutors with exam preparation



Distribute mock papers, support marking/moderation and collate information for feedback. Identify trends in mock performance and share insights with tutors and the central team. Support individual mock exam feedback and recommend changes to exam entries.

3. Support development of the exam service



Work with senior leaders to improve processes and support the introduction of new qualifications. Assist with external approval assessments and create materials to promote new qualifications.

4. Collate exam information and data



Prepare documentation for EQA visits and monitor progress against targets. Support review of exam costings and budgets. Provide accurate exam data to senior leaders as required.

Travel Requirements



A willingness to travel across

Suffolk

and

Norfolk

exam sites is essential. Base location: Ipswich or Norwich office.

Person Specification/Essential Qualifications/Experience



Experience as an Exams Officer and Invigilator Knowledge of UK curriculum, education and exam systems Strong professional relationship-building experience Strong written English; secure grammar and communication Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR and confidentiality Confident IT user, able to learn new systems Ability to support well-planned, safe exam service delivery Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desirable



Experience supporting young people with SEND or those outside mainstream settings Understanding of SEND and high-quality teaching and learning Proactive, resourceful and able to take initiative

Attitude



Positive, resilient, warm, approachable and flexible Able to manage workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure

40 hours per week - term time + 3 additional weeks



Salary: 29,500 - 33,500 (depending upon experience)
