Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently to assist with various pole erections for overhead power line and site reinstatement tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise mechanical knowledge and commercial driving skills within a dynamic environment. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations Conduct routine inspections of equipment prior to use, ensuring it is in good working condition Assist with site preparation, excavation, trenching, and material handling tasks Follow instructions from site supervisors to complete tasks accurately and efficiently Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times Perform minor maintenance or troubleshooting on machinery as needed Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Experience

Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or civil engineering environment Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery operation and maintenance Valid commercial driving licence, preferably with experience driving lorries or similar vehicles Familiarity with site safety protocols and procedures Prior experience working on large-scale construction projects is desirable but not essential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 18.00-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
