Executive Assistant To The Managing Director

Watford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job Overview

Blue A is a high-performing asbestos surveying and removal company with a strong reputation for quality, professionalism, and growth.
As we continue expanding, we're not only strengthening our core asbestos services but also launching a new solar power service within the business -- a major step in our growth strategy and diversification.
We're looking for someone smart, organised, and commercially minded to support our Managing Director across business development, operations, and marketing initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who's good with numbers, systems, and sales -- but doesn't want a rigid corporate structure. We're fast-paced, down-to-earth, and results-driven, with a friendly, professional team and ambitious growth plans.

The Role

This is a hybrid role that combines the skills of an Executive Assistant with those of an Operations Manager.
You'll be the go-to person for the Managing Director, providing executive-level support while also driving strategic growth, operational improvements, and marketing initiatives.
You'll play a key part in helping the company successfully launch and integrate the new solar power service alongside our existing asbestos services.
This is a hands-on role for a doer -- someone who takes ideas and runs with them, seeing tasks through to completion.

Responsibilities

Strategic & Growth Support

Work directly with the Managing Director to implement strategic growth plans, including the successful launch and integration of our new solar power service. Track and improve marketing campaigns, SEO stats, and sales data. Manage customer quote follow-ups and monitor pipeline performance. Conduct competitor, market, and trend research to identify opportunities in the asbestos and solar industries.

Operational Support

Help shape and improve internal systems, including Zoho One, reporting dashboards, and workflow automations. Coordinate with various departments (surveying, removal, admin) to align priorities and ensure smooth communication. Manage monthly business tasks and recurring operational checks.

Technology & Process Improvement

Research and introduce the latest tools and AI-driven solutions to make processes faster and more efficient. Help implement and optimise automation in Zoho One to improve efficiency and reporting. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in both asbestos and renewable energy sectors.

Branding, Marketing & Communication

Assist in writing service copy, web updates, or process materials. Support the creation and improvement of brochures, flyers, and branded materials for both asbestos and solar services. Ensure the company's brand is presented consistently and professionally across all touchpoints.

Legal & Compliance Support

Assist in reviewing contracts and legal documents with excellent attention to detail. Support compliance initiatives, including health & safety, ISO standards, and project-related documentation.

You'll Suit This Role If You

Have a commercial brain and are comfortable with figures, data, and KPIs. Understand SEO basics, sales funnels, or online lead generation. Are tech-confident (bonus if you've used Zoho, CRM tools, or project management software). Are proactive, curious, and can juggle multiple projects at once. Enjoy a varied role that mixes systems, growth, and strategy. Are execution-focused -- you take a task and see it through without needing micromanagement. Are a clear communicator, with strong telephone manners and interpersonal skills. Have an eye for branding and presentation quality. Are comfortable working near or within environments involving asbestos (no technical qualifications required - just awareness that some work involves asbestos projects). Have a valid driving licence (some travel may be required). Are trustworthy and discreet, especially when handling sensitive business information.

Experience & Qualifications

3+ years' experience in an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, Business Operations, or similar professional role. Experience in business process improvement and/or automations. Proven ability to support directors or senior management. Familiarity with branding, copywriting, and business communications. Comfortable with basic legal document review.

What We Offer

A chance to work directly with the Managing Director on high-impact projects, including the rollout of our new solar power service. Exposure to multiple areas of the business -- from software to sales to operations. A friendly, high-performing team with ambitious growth plans. A flexible, down-to-earth work environment with no unnecessary red tape. Long-term opportunities to shape your role as the company grows. Paid training and development support to help you expand your skill set.

How to Apply

Please send us your CV along with a short note explaining why you'd be a great fit for this role. As part of the process, you'll also be asked to complete a brief skills assessment.
