Your mission:

Should you choose to accept it...

You will oversee planning, managing, and organising all the moving parts of the housekeeping department, ensuring it works collaboratively with the rest of the hotel team. You need a great eye for detail, high cleanliness expectations, strong communication skills, and genuine care in order to maintain Virgin Hotels' high standards in all stylish chambers, suites, and exciting event spaces.



Even more so, we expect the Executive Housekeeper to be aware of their surroundings and anticipate guest needs to provide each guest with a personalised 5-star experience when they stay with us. You will be responsible for training the housekeeping supervisors, to set these high expectations for the rest of the housekeeping team including room attendants, public area servers, linen porters, ensuring the department has high standards and shows genuine care for the guests.



You will uphold exceptional levels of cleanliness and presentation by fostering a culture of genuine care for both guests and colleagues and ensuring that the department consistently operates to the highest professional standards.

What exactly will you be doing...

Ensures higher than normal quality standards for: hotel rooms, public areas, food beverage outlets and the heart of the house! Works closely with the Front Office to ensure all guest preferences are executed. We love going the extra mile and putting the guest first (we hope you do too!) Understand and maintain all housekeeping procedures, that comply with correct policies and procedures. Champion of the culture, values, and tone of voice of Virgin Hotels, by role modeling and training your department. Promote the culture, values, and tone of Virgin Hotels by modeling the desired behavior and providing training to your department. Cultivate a team of personable, genuine, and committed individuals to comprise the housekeeping department, creating a respectful and enjoyable environment for the team. Review and maintain the development of the housekeeping team, including regular training sessions, one-to-ones, and annual performance reviews. Responsible for ensuring the housekeeping team complete daily and weekly tasks. Hold engaging and informative briefing sessions for the team and attend the daily management briefing meetings. Inspect rooms and public spaces to ensure they meet Virgin Hotels' standards of cleanliness. Learn and participate in the Know program to ensure guest profile information is relevant and it is being utilized to dazzle our guests during their stay. Manage departmental costs, including staffing and supplies, ensuring they are on budget and suggesting areas for improvement in collaboration with our finance team. Monitor and control inventories for operating equipment to ensure efficient stock are maintained and costs are under control. Workforce planning: Forecast and schedule department rotas, ensuring and managing holiday requests Ensure all guest questions requests are addressed and followed up on while delivering exceptional guest service. Ensure that event spaces and chambers are beautifully presented for potential clients on our site visits, working with the front office team to suggest amenities that elevate a guest experience. Ensure all rooms are compliant with the hotel's Health Safety policies, and any issues are reported to engineering. Share ideas and feedback with other senior managers to resolve potential issues and we can improve the experience for guests and teammates.

What qualities are we looking for?



Work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team. Knowledge and/or experience of the various positions within the housekeeping department. A keen eye for the details Ability to anticipate guest needs and inspire others to go above and beyond to create the best guest experience. The Executive Housekeeper must be able to change direction and work on multiple project aspects at once. Creatively solve problems and can resolve potential conflicts. Sound ability and knowledge to develop standards of operations and strategic processes Flexibility to work some weekends.

Background must-have:



Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United Kingdom. Minimum of three years of Housekeeping managerial experience. Experience working in a luxury hotel. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management/co-workers, both in person and on the telephone.
