About the Role


We are seeking a proactive and highly organised

Executive Support Team Leader (ESTL)

to provide professional leadership to the Executive Support function. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality executive assistance to senior leadership, forward planning support, and smooth operation of the Executive Support Team.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure a responsive, high-quality and professional support service to members of the senior leadership team. Lead, supervise and develop the Executive Support Team, setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting staff development. Oversee diary and forward planning for senior leaders, ensuring meetings, briefings and reports are well-prepared and accurate. Coordinate information flow between leadership, elected members, partner organisations, and other stakeholders. Support senior leadership with correspondence, petitions, motions and governance requirements. Contribute to service improvement through policy, process and technology enhancements. Monitor budgets, financial compliance, and procurement activities within the Executive Support function. Provide accurate and timely management information, reports and business data. Deputise for the Executive Support Relationship Manager and provide cover for team members as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile



Essential Skills & Experience



Experience of managing and supervising in a large, complex, customer-facing organisation. Strong organisational and leadership skills with proven ability to manage teams under pressure. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience of executive-level PA/administrative duties. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive information. Experience of managing budgets, projects and implementing new procedures. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.

Desirable



Knowledge of local government functions, governance and decision-making processes. Experience of risk management and fraud awareness. Knowledge of project management methodologies. Experience of procurement systems and financial regulations.

Pre-Employment Requirements



Proof of Right to Work in the UK. Satisfactory employment references. Willingness to undertake relevant training as required.
