Experienced Accountancy Practice VAT Clerk

Location: Glossop Town Centre
Hours: Full-time, 9am - 5pm
Salary: 25,000 per year

We are a well-established accountancy practice seeking an experienced VAT Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing VAT compliance for a wide range of clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to HMRC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and submission of VAT returns across a wide range of clients. Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines. Maintaining accurate VAT records and reconciliations. Assisting with client queries relating to VAT matters. Supporting the wider accounts team when required.

Requirements

Proven experience working in an accountancy practice. Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation, rules, and regulations. Demonstrated experience in preparing and filing VAT returns. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good IT skills, including use of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage). Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
