Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing windows in a variety of residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. Duties

Measure and prepare window openings to ensure precise fitting according to project specifications Install new windows, including securing frames and ensuring proper sealing for insulation and weatherproofing Remove old or damaged windows carefully, minimising damage to surrounding structures Use a range of hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, and screwdrivers to facilitate installation Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and alignment of windows Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, or electricians as required on-site Maintain health and safety standards at all times, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Clean work area after completion of each task, ensuring site safety and organisation

Skills

Proven experience in construction-related roles with knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, plastering, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, or construction painting considered advantageous Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately Strong understanding of construction safety procedures and protocols Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary Experience with installation techniques specific to window fitting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided if needed
