Job Description

Boyton Estate is a Rural Estate, based near Warminster. The Estate comprises a mixture of operations including in-hand farming, let farms, let residential and commercial properties and forestry operations. The current bookkeeper is due to retire, and the Estate is looking for someone to take over this part-time as well as wider farm and estate administration.

Boyton Estate are looking for an experienced and well organised individual with previous bookkeeping experience, ideally related to a farm or rural business. You will be required to work alone in the Farm Office but also liaise with the Estate Owner on a weekly basis. Once established with the role, there may be some flexibility for some home working.

Although predominantly a bookkeeping role, this position would ideally suit a person looking to expand their experience by undertaking more of the wider estate administration. Such tasks could include, but aren't limited to, dealing with tenant queries, liaising with contractors, compiling a property repair schedule, instructing compliance related matters etc.

The Estate are willing to accept applications from those wishing to be self-employed or employed.

Key Responsibilities:



Processing purchase invoices

Reconciling supplier statements

Bank reconciliation

Making payments

Ensuring rental and other sales invoices are processed

VAT returns as required (including partial exemption, due to exempt income)

Budgets / Cashflow forecasts

Payroll

General administration, client/supplier queries etc

Liaising with tenants over property related matters as well as chasing rental arrears

Assist in organising property repairs and liaising with staff and contractors

Maintain records on our property management software including compliance and health & safety

What you will need:



At least 2 years' experience in an accounts' environment

Confidence in your abilities

Preferably experience of using Xero software

Experienced in the use of Excel

The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Be detail orientated

Good people skills with the ability to handle queries diplomatically

Strong communication both verbal and written

Highly IT literate with ability to learn new software

Professional demeanour and capability to build good rapport with staff, tenants and contractors

Confident to work independently

Excellent organisational and numeracy skills

Possess own transport and have full driving licence

Schedule:



10 hours a week ideally split between 2 mornings. Ideally a half day on either Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and a half day on Thursday/Friday but not 2 days in a row.

Ability to commute but also with the ability to work the occasional day from home.

Experience:



Accounting: 2 years minimum
