About Us:
We are a child-centred residential care provider, offering therapeutic, safe, and structured homes for children and young people aged 8-18. Our Littleover home supports young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, many of whom have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences.
As we continue to grow and enhance our service, we are now seeking an
Experienced Children's Support Worker
to join our dedicated and passionate care team.
The Role:
As an experienced Support Worker, you'll play a key role in providing consistent, nurturing care and helping young people to feel safe, valued, and supported. You'll be involved in every aspect of a young person's life - from daily routines to emotional wellbeing and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive, trusted relationships with children and young people
Support children with their day-to-day routines, activities, education, and life skills
Promote independence and emotional resilience
Respond calmly and professionally to challenging behaviours
Actively contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and progress reviews
Maintain accurate daily records and incident reports
Work as part of a strong and supportive team, sharing responsibility for the running of the home
Participate in a rota that includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (additional pay for sleep-ins)
Requirements:
Minimum 12 months' experience
in a children's residential care setting -
Essential
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
(or equivalent) - or willingness to complete within 18 months
Sound understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
Compassionate, consistent, and professional approach to working with young people
Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure
Full UK driving licence - preferred but not essential
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one)
