Company descriptionWe are an independent commercial insurance brokerage established in 2000, looking to recruit an experienced commercial insurance account handler.We provide a relaxed (yet professional) working environment, and are looking for an experienced individual to assist with all aspects of commercial insurance account handling; including new business quotes, renewals, claims and administration. Our main focus is combined commercial, liability, property, professional indemnity, marine, cyber and other types of commercial insurances. In 2005, we joined the COBRA Network, so as to benefit from enhanced market access and support in respect of regulatory matters. We have an absolutely fantastic team and are looking to expand this during 2021. Ordinarily, we operate from our offices in Stourbridge, where our open plan environment allows us to work together in placing risks and supporting clients. Throughout the pandemic we have been holding our weekly staff meetings via zoom, to ensure our office and remote workers remain sane and connected!Job title Commercial Insurance Account HandlerJob purposeTo assist an established team with new business quotation enquiries, renewals, claims and administration.Main duties The main duties of an Commercial Insurance Account Handler include but are not restricted to:
  • The broking of insurance risks and preparation of contract certain quotes, providing full details of the policy terms, conditions and endorsements applicable and confirming in writing the information upon which terms have been based.
  • Administering adjustments and addressing queries raised by existing clients and prospects.
  • Taking details of claims, reporting to insurers and tracking the progress of claims.
  • Assisting with administration e.g.
  • Checking proposal forms, credit agreements etc from clients to ensure all information complete and correct prior to submission.
  • Checking policy documentation from insurers to ensure sums insured, proposer details, business description and policy endorsements/warranties, noted interests, scope of cover etc are correct and as quoted.
  • Acknowledging receipt of e-mails and other correspondence, indicating a timescale in which a response will be forthcoming.
  • Processing of adjustments e.g. change of address, change of company name etc following receipt of written advices/instructions from the insured.
  • Logging phone calls, e-mails etc onto the Insur-E system.
  • Administering the diary system - chasing insurers/client for outstanding documentation, payment, claims updates etc
  • General office administration
