We are a very successful local Law Firm who are currently recruiting an Experienced Legal Secretary to join our busy team. We are ideally looking for an experienced Legal Secretary with a professional and friendly personality. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, have excellent word processing skills along with the ability to draft legal documentation and be a fast and accurate typist.
Experience of working in criminal defence and on legal aid matters is essential.
Qualifications:
You will have completed a broad education that includes GCSE grade C or above in both English and Mathematics (or equivalent). You will also have a basic and proficient experience of using a computer especially within word, Excel and Outlook
Required Experience:
2 years experience as a Legal Secretary
Excellent administration skills
The ability to follow instructions accurately
Computer literate
MS office applications
Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM
High attention to detail
Resilience and ability to work in a fast paced, high demand environment
Responsibilities:
Accurate and timely preparation of correspondence and documents through word processing
Managing fee earner diaries
Prepare mail and enclosures
Undertake file management in accordance with the detailed procedures in the Office Manual or as required
Corresponding with Police Forces nationwide in order to obtain outcomes of police interviews
Answering the telephone and general reception duties
Ensure confidentiality of all the firm's and client's documentation
Undertake any other clerical and administrative duties as may reasonably be required
Provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the team
Photocopying and scanning of documentation as required
Employment:
Full time - 9.00am to 5.30pm - 1 hour lunch
3 month probationary period
20 days holidays plus bank holiday
