Job Summary


An SME growing is looking for an accomplished Estimator with extensive experience in aluminium, uPVC, timber, and composite window and door systems.

Including aluminium glazing systems, curtain walling, windows, and doors

Responsible for producing concise and competitive quotations this candidate manages the full tender process through to successful contract award. Recognised for strong communication, organisation, and leadership, they ensure tenders are accurately costed, delivered on time, and consistently followed up to secure new business.

Highly skilled across both residential new-build and commercial facade sectors, with in-depth knowledge of estimating, procurement, value engineering, and compliance with Part L and current building regulations.

Known for their professionalism, technical understanding, and commercial awareness, they must maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Extensive experience in estimating, supply, and installation of uPVC, aluminium, timber, and composite window and door systems

Proven background in pricing and managing full plot packs for new-build housing and low-rise apartment schemes Skilled in the manufacture, supply, and specification of recycled PVC-U cavity closers for residential construction Competent in designing and pricing roof lanterns, skylights, and roof glazing elements Strong understanding of cavity closure systems for both masonry and timber-frame applications Expertise in the fabrication and installation of high-performance, thermally efficient fenestration systems Experienced in coordinating with national housebuilders, developers, and principal contractors Proficient in reading, interpreting, and pricing from architectural and structural drawings Advanced user of estimating and technical pricing software packages Adept at preparing detailed and accurate quotations for both standard and bespoke projects Confident in managing the end-to-end estimating process, from tender receipt to order conversion Skilled in reviewing tender enquiries for suitability, technical accuracy, and commercial viability Strong negotiation skills, ensuring competitive terms and profitable outcomes Experienced in managing estimating pipelines to maintain consistent workflow and enquiry levels
Proven track record of securing new business and maintaining strong client relationships

oCapable of setting up and maintaining cost schedules across multiple projects and product lines

oThorough knowledge of Part L building regulations and current energy efficiency standards

oEffective at value engineering to achieve design intent within project budgets

oSkilled in supplier liaison for procurement of uPVC, aluminium, timber, and composite materials

oExperience in overseeing estimating teams, delegating workloads, and ensuring quality control

Strong understanding of thermal performance, U-values, and compliance requirements
oSkilled in take-offs, material schedules, and cost analysis for fenestration products

Ability to assess project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities at tender stage Well-versed in managing projects for national housebuilders and regional developers Experience in both supply-only and supply-and-install contract formats
oComprehensive understanding of installation logistics and sequencing on new-build plots

Confident communicator with clients, design teams, and supply chain partners Ability to manage multiple concurrent tenders while meeting strict deadlines Strong commercial acumen and awareness of market pricing trends in fenestration Experienced in technical submissions, specification compliance, and pre-start documentation Familiar with Constructionline, CHAS, and FENSA compliance processes Demonstrated success in mentoring junior estimators and supporting team development Highly organised with a methodical approach to document control and estimate tracking Reputation for delivering accurate, timely, and competitive quotations that convert to repeat business
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 30,000.00-45,000.00 per year
