The Prepared Foods Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the prepared foods department, ensuring that all food safety and quality standards are met. This role involves leading a team in food preparation and culinary tasks while fostering a positive work environment. Duties
Lead and manage the prepared foods team, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
Oversee food preparation processes, including cooking, assembling, and presenting meals to ensure quality and consistency.
Train new staff on food safety practices, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment usage.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies necessary to maintain stock.
Assist in resolving any customer inquiries or complaints regarding prepared foods.
Requirements
Proven experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting, with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices is essential.
Level 2 Food Safety/Hygiene qualification or relevant certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends as required by the business needs.
