Independent Events are an event company based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, we design, build and run every part of our events and with our busiest time of year approaching, we are looking to expand our team to aid the preparations for multiple event builds.

Experienced Skilled Joiner/Carpenter - multiskilled trader. IMMEDIATE START.

Location

- Our workshop in Wallsend NE28. On site work also required when installing events, with some over night stays required where applicable.

Driver with own tools essential.

Must be willing to travel and have weekend availability.

We are looking for an experienced, skilled Joiner / Carpenter to join our team for event builds and maintenance. Initially work will be undertook in our workshop in Wallsend, however we also require regular travel to install and de-rig the event builds across the UK. Travel includes overnight work and stays and often include weekends.

Duties:

- Perform a variety of skilled tasks in construction, maintenance, and repair projects

- Assist with the installation of structures

- General duties such as painting and mending (mainly working with wood)

- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently

Skills:

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.

- Strong knowledge of construction techniques and materials

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision for measurements and cuts.

- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods

- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team

- Knowledge of electrics would be beneficial when doing some installs.

We are looking for someone who is able to travel to complete event builds, which often happen overnight and can be on

weekends

.

Must be willing to travel.
