Job Overview
We are looking for experienced kitchen Assistants to work 2 day shifts, 8am - 2pm (12hrs week) and 2 tea shifts, 3.30pm - 7pm (7hrs week) Must have some weekend availability.
Position is subject to enhanced DBS & 2 satisfactory references.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will have had similar experience in a care home setting and must be able to work with minimum supervision.
Duties
Ability to prepare hot & cold meals without supervision. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals during service periods.
Experience
Previous experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is preferred, with an understanding of proper food handling techniques. Ability to work effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
