Experienced Roofer / Senior Roofer

Samuel Moore Roofing is a well-established, independent roofing company based in the North East, working across residential and commercial projects. Due to continued growth and secured work, we are looking to bring an experienced roofer into the team, either on a PAYE (employed) or self-employed basis.

The Role

This role suits a skilled roofer who takes pride in their work and can operate confidently on site. Leadership experience is an advantage but not essential. You will be expected to work to a high standard, follow safe working practices, and contribute positively to the team.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out roofing works including slating, tiling, leadwork and flat roofing Leading or supporting a small team on site where required Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard Assisting with job preparation and site safety Supporting apprentices and junior roofers Communicating clearly with management during projects

Requirements

Proven experience as a roofer ideally 3+ years Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional attitude and good timekeeping Full UK driving licence preferred Opportunity has working away and local work workstreams

Pay & Working Hours

PAYE (employed): 17 per hour Self-employed: 200 per day
Self-employed roofers are expected to:

Provide their own van and hand tools Supply their own PPE, including hard hat, safety boots, work trousers and harnesses where required (branded company workwear will be provided) Hold a valid CSCS card and relevant roofing experience Have public liability insurance in place Manage their own tax and invoicing
All materials, scaffolding and access equipment are supplied by the company.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week Typical working hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm Overtime and weekend work available when required and agreed

Statutory Sick Pay applies initially Company sick pay available for longer-term absence, subject to policy Attendance is monitored fairly, with support and reviews in place

Location

Based from Unit W7, The Innovation Centre, Kirkleatham Business Park, Redcar, travelling to sites in company vehicles/own vehicle for self employment.
