We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Duties
Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes.
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
Use carpentry skills for framing, cutting, fitting, and sealing roofing components.
Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate roofing tasks safely.
Conduct inspections of roofs to identify issues such as leaks or structural damage and carry out necessary repairs.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within safety regulations.
Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
Follow safety protocols at all times, including the use of harnesses, scaffolding procedures, and protective gear.
Qualifications
Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields such as carpentry or masonry.
Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
Strong understanding of roofing materials and installation methods.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods.
Basic plumbing or masonry skills are advantageous but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in following specifications.
Physical fitness suitable for working at heights and in various weather conditions.
